So, I found this website that I have to share with all you “knowledge/trivia junkies”. It is http://www.mentalfloss.com.
Go check it out, there’s lots to look at, and if you are like me, I’m particularly drawn to the “Quizes” section. It is very disturbing to me that the President of the United States is once again threatening to overreach his powers via Executive Order in regards to guns and gun laws.
It is important to remember that a Tyrant will take away your guns so that they will have control over you and the Country. This is the path he is moving towards, to give power to both himself and the Federal Government.
Here is what the second Amendment says:
U.S. Constitution — “Amendment II –A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
[Cornell University Law School, http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.billofrights.html#amendmentii ]
Very simply, and very effectively, our Founding Fathers protected the ability of each individual citizen, and the state of which he is a part, to “keep and bear arms” for defense. In reading this amendment, you must focus on the first tiny comma, for that punctuation mark divides this guarantee into two separate, but equal, parts.
First, each “free state” of the Union was granted the ability to create and maintain a “well regulated militia”; note that his guarantee says, “well regulated”, not Federal Government regulated!
After the comma, a second guarantee was granted, i.e., the “right of the people” to ” keep and bear arms”. The term, “people” simply means the individual citizen of the United States of America.
Therefore, each individual citizen has a Constitutionally-guaranteed right to keep and bear arms!
Then, the second comma contains the guarantee: “shall not be infringed”. In other words, both the right of the state to maintain a militia AND the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed”. This definition is the simple, straightforward meaning of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Texas Representative Steve Stockman is threatening to push the impeachment of Obama in regards to gun control. He clearly explains how Obama’s actions will violate our 2nd amendment right:
“The President’s actions are an existential threat to this nation. The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years. The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny. Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.
The President’s actions are not just an attack on the Constitution and a violation of his sworn oath of office – they are a direct attack on Americans that place all of us in danger. If the President is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist.” ~ Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas
It is important to pay attention to what is happening in Washington, as your rights are about to be taken away right under your nose. If that happens, I see a revolution in the near future.
I leave you this quote by Edmund Burke to think about, especially since Obama seems to have the masses under his “charismatic spell”.
“The people never give up their liberties, but under some delusion.” ~Edmund Burke
Hold my heart with care
It is fragile
Hold it close to your heart
Let them beat en masse
An affirmation of life
How long will they beat?
It is despairing to me
As I realize it won’t last
Let us enjoy this time
This moment together
Nothing else matters
The world may end today
Or tomorrow…who knows?
No one knows
Only God knows
He keeps his secrets well
One of my guy friends made my day. I found this message on my facebook,
“You’re very Pretty, smart and fun so don’t settle for less than the best!!!!”
Don’t be afraid to compliment someone, as they just might need it, especially now that the holidays are just around the corner.

I am SO not in the mood for Christmas. I’m in a deep blue funk and can’t seem to get out of it. I even tried watching “A Christmas Story”, the classic which is played every year (with little Ralph Parker, 1983), but still I was not able to shake off my lingering gloom.
It doesn’t help that the temperature has once again dropped to minus degrees, which tends to make me want to act like a hibernating bear and stay put in the house. The dreaded long winter here is looming on my mind, making me wonder, “will I gain another five or ten pounds again this year?”. By the way, I really wish they would hurry up and invent that miracle “fat burning pill”.
I forced myself to make my homemade salsa to give to co-workers and friends. Something I usually like doing.
Maybe I am subconsciously worried about the crazy Mayan prediction that is just a few days away. If they are right, I am going to be sooooo perturbed, as I am scheduled to get out of this place which is colder than a penguin’s derriere, for about a week. I REALLY need this break away as it is so dry here, I also feel like an itchy bear cub. All these things compounding the urgency for some relief from the constant cold.
Why the hell did I move here? Oh, yeah, a job. That is a whole other story.
If I don’t get my “fun time” in some warmth….I will really get bitchy (and I will probably look and act like a grumpy bear).
No wonder people here get “cabin fever”, where they go stir crazy from being inside and it is dark all the time. I see those “lamps” for sale, to help people with this weird condition (to try and keep the insanity at bay). I guess they work.
I could really use some of that “global warming” here…that would help with my sanity. Not too much though, as I moved from “hell”, where it was hot ALL the time.
I need a happy medium please. That is all I am asking for (well, that and please don’t let the world end on December 21st).
