Why is this not already on the books in every state?
The Constitution has specific requirements about who can be elected President of the United States, but does not provide for any mechanism to ensure these requirements are met.
It has always been assumed no one would run for president without actually being eligible to hold the office.
The problem is, there’s no agency in place to ask for that documentation, and no procedure for making sure those documents are valid.
This is definitely an interesting development in the political arena. I’m wondering, if it is determined that Obama was NOT eligible to be President, what happens to all his policies he passed? Will be go to jail? What about all the people who aided his rise to the presidency? Like Pelosi?
I hope someone who is knowledgeable about this will comment. Any thoughts?

I don’t get this. He shows a copy of it and the authorities in Hawaii confirms it’s there. What more can he do?
I think the question is what procedure will ensure the candidates are American citizens. Should they in the future show their original birth certificates to every single American in person? That would take years.
What Obama provided was a “certificate of live birth”, which is NOT an official birth certificate and is easily available.
The states want a long form certificate which would have the following information:
1. Attending physician signature or license number
2. Address for the attending physician or hospital
3. Parent’s signatures
4. Parent DOB or age of parent or parent place of birth.
5. If it was a single birth or multiple birth.
6. Registrars name or signature.
An official birth certificate would have this information included.
I don’t know what Barack Obama is hiding by not releasing his complete birth certificate. But, it should be obvious to one and all that he is hiding something. Why continue to respond to a battery of lawsuits with legal maneuvering – fighting them by claiming that bona fide U.S. citizens — who aren’t afraid to show their birth certificates — don’t have legal standing.
Obama has spent almost a million dollars in legal fees to block the revelations of his birth certificate and college records, makes his background very important.
The fact that he has surrounded himself with convicted felons, communists, socialists and atheists, exposes his beliefs more than what he says. His weakness against terrorists makes his childhood background even more interesting.
I know if I didn’t have anything to hide, I sure wouldn’t spend millions of dollars in legal fees to keep from showing my birth certificate.
Use common sense…..he IS hiding something, and most likely it is that he was not born in the United States.
